Port Edgar is an extensive, busy marina currently providing 300 berths and hosting a number of businesses and organisations. It is owned and operated by a locally based team of experienced professionals who are committed to the marina’s ongoing development.
Uniquely located for unrivalled access to the Firth of Forth and East Coast sailing, our vision is to build on these distinctive aspects and develop Port Edgar into an exceptional marina and family-friendly visitor destination.
Our vibrant community is at the core of our vision
Port Edgar is a lively place. Along with our berth holders and boating community, there is a wide range of clubs and organisations, including: Port Edgar Watersports CIC - one of the largest watersports and activity centres in Scotland; ForthSail - the East Coast Cruising School; and the Royal Navy Sailing Association. A number of boat charters and tour operators use Port Edgar as a starting or dropping off point and the marina is home to Bosuns Locker - the largest boat sales and chandlery business in the east of Scotland.
We’re surrounded by countryside and close to the historic town of South Queensferry, which means Port Edgar can offer a blend of opportunities to suit everyone whether they are looking to sail, get active, explore the local area, or just relax with a wonderful view.
Our stunning location is the inspiration for our developments
As the only major, fully serviced marina in the Edinburgh area, we continue to develop and improve the facilities and services we offer to our marina users. In addition to developing the marina, our vision is to make Port Edgar a family-friendly destination that maximises the distinctive aspects of our location and creates a place where anyone can come and enjoy the delights of being by and on the water.
A key development is our plan to build a new ‘hub’ on the north of our site. This will encompass a bar, bistro and visitor centre, along with new office space and other facilities. Making the most of our stunning location it will enjoy unrivalled views of the iconic three bridges and the Firth of Forth.
Improvements for all visitors
We are also working to improve access, car parking and other facilities on the site to make Port Edgar a highly enjoyable place for all our visitors, whether they are sailing, participating in a water-related sport or just looking to unwind.
